Yes. The OF512 is a fully earthed anti-static (ESD) stool. Every part is anti-static: the seat and backrest are earthed to the chassis, which connects through the chromed gas lift to the polished aluminium base and to ground via conductive ESD castors or glides. It has Hi-Tech Fabric or Medistat vinyl upholstery (both dissipative), with a resistance to ground that does not exceed 10^10 ohms, tested with an OHM-STAT megohmmeter. It suits ESD workstations, electronics assembly and static-sensitive labs.

The OF512 comes with ESD soft-tyre castors as standard. ESD lock-off and lock-down castors, and ESD glides, are available for a price uplift. All options keep the chair’s anti-static path to ground intact; soft-tyre castors are recommended for hard or vinyl flooring.

Description

The OF512 is a desk-height ESD anti-static stool with an upholstered seat — more seat comfort than a solid PU stool for longer seated spells at electronics and instrument benches around 720–750 mm. Purchased over 1,185 times to date.

An ESD chair is built with static-dissipative materials throughout, so the chair itself does not accumulate charge. It protects the workpiece alongside — not instead of — wrist straps, grounded surfaces and ESD flooring.
